JUDGMENT OF ADJEI, JA. The Defendants who were dissatisfied with the judgment of the High Court, Accra delivered on 19th June, 2014 filed an appeal against same to the Court of Appeal, Accra on 6th August, 2014. Upon service of the notice of appeal on the Plaintiffs, they also filed a cross - appeal on 18th August, 2014. The brief facts of the case which culminated to this appeal were that the Plaintiffs were part of the police officers who were compulsorily retired by the Ghana Police Service between 1993-1994 on the premise that they had attained compulsory retiring age of fifty and fifty-five years for police women and policemen respectively. The retiring ages for members of the Ghana Police Service before the coming into force of the Constitution of Ghana, 1992 were fifty and fifty years for women and men respectively.
