GODWIN KAPOME (SUING AS THE NEXT FRIEND OF DAVID KAPOME) vs. AMOS TURKSON AND DORENDA ADDO DWOMOH
i. Introduction: [1] This, in every sense, is a harrowing case. It should serve as a cautionary tale to us all about the potential dangers associated with motor vehicles as heavy machinery. This action arises out of a vehicle accident that occurred on September 17, 2014, in which the Plaintiff, David Kapome who was a six year old was injured. The accident occurred when the Plaintiff was walking along the Amanfro road as a pedestrian on the Mallam –Kasoa road. The vehicle, a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Bus was being driven by the 1st Defendant, Amos Turkson, and owned by the 2nd Defendant Dorenda Addo Dwomoh. The Plaintiff sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. He was discharged after three weeks and transferred to the Nsawam Government Hospital to continue his treatment on an out-patient basis. The 1st Defendant was charged by the Police and he later pleaded guilty to the charges of Careless and Inconsiderate Driving and Negligently Causing Harm. He .....
