JANET AMOAKOA (ALIAS AMA ATAA) vs. THE REPUBLIC

JUDGMENT This is an appeal against the conviction imposed on the appellant herein by the Circuit Court, Akim Swedru. FACTS OF THE CASE The appellant was accused of Causing Harm to one patience Dzabaki alias Dede with a liquid substance suspected to be caustic soda. The facts of the case as per Exhibit B, the facts attached to the Charge Sheet is that the appellant and victim lived in the same community and the victim was a friend to the appellant’s husband, who visited him at his residence. The appellant who at that time was not on good terms with her husband, went to the husband’s room armed with liquid substance in a plastic container and met the victim lying in a sofa in the husband’s room and poured the substance on her where the victim sustained bodily harm on her face, chest and other parts of her body.
