Brief facts: On the 26th February 2014, Dr. Charles O. Kwarteng (hereinafter called the complainant) lodged a complaint at the National Labour Commission against University of Professional Studies (hereinafter respondent) for unfair termination. Case of the complainant: The complainant a former employee of the respondent institution was employed as a lecturer on the 18th day of October 2012. However, on the 25th day of March 2014 he was dismissed for gross misconduct. Prior to the dismissal of the complainant he had already petitioned the Commission on grounds of acts of discrimination against him as contained in his petition dated February 26, 2014. Reliefs sought by the complainant: a. Stay of proceedings pending investigations. b. Restitution. c. Cessation of unfair practices. d. Hearing of these matters.
