CLOSURE REPORT INTRODUCTION On 23rd June, 2014, Max Vardon, the Complainant, lodged a complaint against the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Respondent, for non­ payment of salary arrears and other benefits. The Complainant therefore, seeks the assistance of this Commission to impress upon the Respondent to pay his salary arrears and other benefits due him. COMPLAINANT'S POSITION According to the Complainant, on June 2011 he was asked as a matter of urgency to take over as a substantive executive secretary of the National Council on Persons with Disability (NCPD). The Complainant alleged that in the absence of a functional Board of Councilors, he informed his Sector Minister (Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection [MGCSP]) in January 2013 of his impending statutory (age 60) retirement on 20th April, 2013 and the need to make arrangements for continuity as the NCPD had been unable to recruit due to budgetary constraints.
