The Plaintiff, Osahene Katekyi Busumakura III, claimed to be the Divisional Chief of Takoradi and sought declarations and injunctions against the Defendants regarding the siting of a multipurpose office complex. The Defendants challenged the Plaintiff's legitimacy as Divisional Chief of Takoradi, alleging that he was only installed as Divisional Chief of New Takoradi and that he fraudulently represented himself as Divisional Chief of Takoradi, receiving financial benefits improperly. The Defendants sought restraining orders against the Plaintiff to prevent him from acting as Divisional Chief of Takoradi and from receiving royalties due to the Takoradi Stool.
