Brief facts of the case On 17th September, 2022, the National Union of Teamsters and General Workers (NUTEG), Complainant Union, filed a complaint at the National Labour Commission against Game Discount World Ghana, Respondent, over "Deadlock of Salary & Severance Negotiation." The Complainant Union wrote that on 23rd May, 2022, it served the Respondent with a formal notice to review the Collective Agreement (CA) and salaries of its workers but before the negotiation could begin, the respondent informed the Complainant Union in a letter dated 28th June, 2022 that the company has been sold and plans are far advanced to conclude the purchase agreement. A complaint as a result was made to the National Labour Commission. The Commission in consideration of the urgent nature of the matter, invited the parties to a hearing of the matter on 5th October, 2022 and subsequently held three (3) hearings in the matter.
