RULING We refer to the above named dispute which is pending before the National Labour Commission. The complainant was absent, Respondent appeared represented by the Proprietress of the School. Respondent's Case It is the Respondent case that: 1. The complainant vacated his post. 2. The School was closed down during the COVID-19 lockdown and after the school reopened, complainant reported only once. 3. The complainant was an English Teacher whose services the school required so they would not terminate his appointment for no reason. 4. When he refused to attend to work respondent tried severally to reach him including going to his house without success and when complainant was finally reach d. he said his wife had been transferred so he has to join her. 5. Respondent convinced complainant to return and take his position but he refused for a total of 28 days and when he appeared for the 2nd time he served Respondent a letter from the Commission. 6.
