JUDGMENT BAAH, J.A BACKROUND The appellant, as an accused person, was arraigned before the High Court, Wa, on a sole count of stealing, contrary to section 124(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960, Act 29. The particulars accompanying the charge communicates that, between the period of September 2017 and June 2018, the appellant who was the manager of the Hamile branch of the GN Bank, dishonestly appropriated the sum of One Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand, One Hundred Cedis (GHC149,100.00), belonging to his then employer, being the GN Bank. The particulars further provide that in the course of the investigations, the appellant admitted the offence, and stated in his investigation cautioned statement that he stole GHC124,000.00, to cover a theft occasioned by his subordinate during his tenure as branch manager of the Tumu branch of the bank.
