The parties, both Ghanaian citizens, met in 2003 and began a relationship that produced two children before marrying legally in 2013. The Respondent was previously married in 2002 to Eugene Odame Antwi, a fact concealed from the Petitioner. The parties did not cohabit after marriage but had a third child. The Petitioner seeks annulment of the 2013 marriage on grounds of deceit and prior existing marriage of the Respondent.

JUDGMENT This is a husband's Petition for annulment of the marriage between the parties and for ancillary reliefs. The uncontroverted facts of this case are that the parties who are both Ghanaian citizens, met at the Wangara Hotel in Accra in the year 2003. At the date of this meeting, the Respondent was an employee of the Wangara Hotel, while the Petitioner, a professional footballer with the Liberty Professionals Football Club in Accra, had just been called up to join the National Under 23 football team, the Black Meteors. Sometime after this meeting, the parties began an amorous relationship, which produced their first two male children. After several years of being in this relationship, the parties took a decision to legalize their union. On 31st August 2013 the parties celebrated their marriage under the MARRIAGES ACT, 1884 - 1985 (CAP 127), at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
