HON. PAUL EVANS AIDOO vs. DR. KWAKU AFRIYIE AND THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF GHANA
The petitioner, Hon. Paul Evans Aidoo, filed a parliamentary election petition challenging the December 7, 2020 election results for the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency, alleging irregularities and noncompliance with the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I. 127), particularly concerning the Asawinso Community Centre '2' Polling Station where ballot boxes were snatched by thugs, and the collation process was suspended. The petitioner claimed he obtained 265 votes at that polling station, disputing the declared results that favored the 1st respondent, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie. The petitioner sought nullification of the election results and declaration as the duly elected Member of Parliament.
