PROFESSOR DOMINIC K. FOBIH & ANOR vs. DR. NICK FOBIH & ANOR
The caveators, including the son and nephew of Professor Dominic Kwaku Fobih (1st Respondent), sought to caveat an intended marriage between the 1st Respondent and Mary Nyamekye Oduro (2nd Respondent), alleging the 1st Respondent's impaired decision-making due to a stroke and concerns over the large age gap (80 vs 30 years). They raised suspicions about the 2nd Respondent's fidelity and motives, including allegations of infidelity and potential exploitation of the 1st Respondent's assets. The 3rd Caveator, claiming to be the wife of the 1st Respondent, was later joined, asserting the marriage to the 1st Respondent had not been dissolved. The 1st Respondent denied this, stating the customary marriage to the 3rd Caveator was dissolved in 2020. The caveators sought to prevent the intended marriage on grounds of unsoundness and moral objections.
