NAI DOKU vs. UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, WINNEBA

RULING On the 1st of June, 2020, the Complainant, Nai Doku, filed a complaint of "unpaid salaries" against the Respondent, University of Education, Winneba. He sought the reliefs of: 1. The stoppage of allowance while on leave; 2. Denial of market premium allowance since 2014. 3. Human resource head and director of Health Services' refusal to do what the Vice Chancellor asked them to do, thus his allowance was not paid and also his responsibility allowance. 4. He worked alone in the office and after his transfer two persons - a senior member and a senior staff were sent to the same office to replace him. A senior member's take home pay is almost 3 times the senior staffs salary. The Respondent on the 14th of December 2020 responded and raised a preliminary legal objection to the complaint, the first being the want of capacity of the Complainant and the second being the lack of jurisdiction of the Commission to hear this matter.
