DECISION On 19th July, 2023, the disputing parties appeared before the National Labour Commission. The Complainant was led by the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU). The Respondent was represented by the Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director respectively. Commission The Commission recalled that at the last adjourned date, the Parties were directed to explore settlement of the dispute and report. Both Parties reported that they have not been able to settle as they took different positions. Having failed to amicably settle the dispute, the Commission intervened and met the parties in caucus and in joint sessions and after extensive deliberations with them the Commission decided that the Respondent pays off the Complainant with four (4) months' salary, and this the parties agreed. The Commission directs the Respondent to pay the Complainant four (4) month's salary to bring the dispute to a finality. The payment shall be made forthwith.
