JUDGMENT KULENDI JSC: INTRODUCTION: 1. This appeal against the unanimous decision of the Court of Appeal dated the 6th of May, 2020 which affirmed a thirty (30) year sentence imposed on the Appellant by the High Court, Sekondi, upon his conviction for the offence of Robbery contrary to section 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) as amended by the Criminal Offences Act (Amendment) 2003 (ACT 646) FACTS: 2. On the 3rd of December, 2003 at Airport Ridge, Takoradi, the Appellant, in the company of two others, armed themselves with guns and broke into the house of the Idun Family where they assaulted the occupants and made away with One million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Cedis (GH¢1,650,000.00), Four Hundred CFA Franc (CFA 400), one full piece of cloth, two mobile phones, a number of wristwatches, Seven Thousand US Dollars (US$7,000.00) and a set of jewelry. 3.
