The appellant, formerly represented by the respondents as solicitors, lodged a petition against them at the General Legal Council alleging professional and unethical misconduct, seeking their disbarment and closure of their chambers. The petition was dismissed by the Council. Subsequently, the appellant filed a defamation suit against the respondents, alleging that their written response to the Council contained false and defamatory statements damaging his reputation.

We have before us, an appeal against the ruling of the High Court, Kumasi delivered on the 18th January, 2023 dismissing a suit brought by the Plaintiff/Appellant (hereinafter referred to as the Appellant) against the 1st Defendant/Respondent (hereinafter referred to as Respondent) and the 2nd Defendant. BACKGROUND FACTS The Appellant herein lodged a petition against the Respondent herein and the 2nd Defendant, who once represented him as his Solicitors at the General Legal Council for professional and unethical misconduct seeking to have the Respondents debarred from law practice and the chambers he practices from shut down for five (5) years. The Council did not find any merit in the petition and dismissed same, where upon he issued the Writ against them at the High Court Kumasi for defamation.
