JUDGMENT BARTELS-KODWO J.A. INTRODUCTION This is an appeal against the judgement of the High Court dated 23rd September 2021. BACKGROUND The Plaintiff/Appellant (hereinafter called the ‘Appellant’) was employed by the Defendant/Respondent (hereinafter, ‘the Respondent’) in 1990, following which the Appellant rose through the ranks to become a Director at the Respondent bank. In January 2019, the Respondent bank informed the Appellant that his role was at risk of being made redundant. On February 28, 2019, the Respondent bank wrote formally to the Appellant to inform him that his position was being made redundant and offered him a redundancy package. Attached to that notice of redundancy was Appendix 1 - a Statement of the Final Redundancy payment to be made to the Appellant which can be found on page 7 of the notice of redundancy.
