The accused persons, including Dr. Frederick Mac-Palm (deceased) and nine others, were charged with conspiracy and attempt to overthrow the constitutionally elected government of Ghana by violent means. The plot involved recruitment of soldiers, manufacture and procurement of weapons and explosives, acquisition of communication jamming devices, and plans to capture the President and key installations. The accused held meetings, created a WhatsApp platform for recruitment, and tested locally manufactured pistols. Security agencies arrested the accused following intelligence and surveillance operations.
read moreJUDGMENT The Accused Persons were arraigned before this Court on Saturday, the 24th of April, 2021 per a Warrant issued by His Lordship the Chief Justice on the 23rd of April, 2021 empaneling the above-named Justices.
