THE REPUBLIC vs. PEARL QUARSHIE AND BRIGHT MOORE QUARSHIE
The parties, Pearl Quarshie (Respondent) and Bright Moore Quarshie (Applicant), are married with a 4-year-old son. Following domestic disputes and allegations of abuse, the Respondent left the matrimonial home with the child. The child underwent surgery in January 2023, after which custody was voluntarily given to the Applicant. The Respondent later filed for custody and maintenance, resulting in a Family and Juvenile Court judgment granting custody to the Applicant and access rights to the Respondent. The Respondent allegedly disobeyed the court's access orders and failed to send the child to the agreed school, prompting the Applicant to seek committal for contempt of court.
