RULING A. SUMMARY OF FACTS 1. The Complainants (Gideon Desire Edzeame & Ten (10) Ors) are security men in the Security unit of the Respondent (State Protocol Department). The Complainants petitioned the Commission for the payment of overtime allowance for duties performed for weekends and public holidays for the years ending 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. 2. The Complainants say they have had several meetings with the Management of the Respondent to have their allowances paid to them, but to no avail. The Complainants aver that sometime in January 2019, they brought before the Commission a similar issue for redress, which took the intervention of the Commission to have their 2018 allowances paid to them in December 2022. 3. The Complainants Believe they are-being ill-treated, going through-legal -battles - anytime they have to be paid for their weekends and public holiday duties.
