line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">This action is a fall-out from the 158 special meeting of the University Council, the second defendant herein, which is by statutory provision, the governing body of the first defendant university. The plaintiff herein is a professor of French, has been dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, since 1984, head of the Department of Languages and lecturer, an employee of the first defendant university. In consequence of the said resolution, advertisements were posted at the university campus and also published in the Daily Graphic newspaper on or about 10 December 1997 inviting interested and qualified persons to apply.
