S. Attipoe and 4 others dated 30th May 1996. The Complainant therein complained that the computation of their retirement benefits was wrong.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">They stated that they entered the Civil Service as pensionable officers in 1959/60. Their division was known as the Valuation Division. In 1986, it became the Land Valuation Board. They stated that they continued to enjoy Civil Service salary through the Controller & Accountant d Department. However, they said that they were retired on Civil Service pension in 1995 but the rest of their service from 1986 - 1996 was not taken into consideration in computing their benefits.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent: .95pt;mso-pagination:none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt; mso-border-shadow:yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">They stated further that a letter from the Head of Civil Service to the Land Valuation Board instructing that the services of the staff should be considered as continuous service was ignored by the Controller & Accountant General's Department. They feel that they have been given a raw deal.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Land Valuation Board in its comments stated that the matter had been referred to the Public Services Commission for rectification and payment of their terminal benefits. The Land Valuation Board was therefore waiting for directives from the Public Services Commission.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Commission followed up by contacting the Public Services Commission for their comments. The Public Services Commission by one of its officials, Major Bampoe claimed that the problems have now been solved. He promised to write to the Commission officially. To date nothing has been heard from him. The Commission wrote to the Complainants for confirmation of Major Bampoe's assertion.
