The complainant alleges that one Lartey who lives near the said piece of land claimed that he owned the land and insisted that they 'pay an amount of ten thousand cedis monthly. The AMA advised the complainant against paying any money to Lartey since he does not own the land. Lartey reported the matter to the Queenmoiher of Kwashieman who sent for the complainant and threatened them with ejection from the land unless they pay her an amount of six million cedis. The respondent, kept demanding various sums of money from the complainant and constantly sends her land guards to harass them in their workshop.

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">The complainant failed to provide the Commission with any contact address for both the Queenmother and Lartey. The Commission therefore sent the complainant a letter asking for a postal or residential address. The Commission did not hear from the "complainant for several months and when a reminder was sent, a representative of the complainant called at the Commission to say that the AMA had taken up the matter and was mediating the matter. The complainant was thus advised to continue with alternate dispute resolution and give the Commission a feedback of whatever happens.

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%; font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">In the light of the above the Commission ceased investigation in accordance with section 13(1) (b) of Act 456 1993 which states;

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">13(1) “Where in the course of the investigation of any complaint it appears to the

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">Commission

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">(b) that having regard to all the circumstances of the case, any further investigation is unnecessary, it may refuse to investigate the matter further.

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">
