This action commenced on 16/2/95, and in that action, the plaintiff's claim was as follows: <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:-.25in; line-height:115%;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Book Antiqua";mso-bidi-font-family:"Book Antiqua"">(1)<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman";"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%; font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"">Recovery of £3,000 (three thousand pounds sterling) and ¢500,000 (Five hundred thousand cedis) being debt due and owing, by defendants to plaintiff which the defendants have wrongfully failed, refused or neglected to pay, despite repeated demands. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.25in;text-align:justify;line-height: 115%"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"">(ii) Interest on the said sum at the current Bank rate in the United kingdom as at the date of final payment" <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"">All the usual and necessary steps and processes were taken culminating in a judgment in favour of the plaintiff which was delivered on 21/10/2001 by The Court then presided over by her Lordship Mariama<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"">Owusu sitting as Additional Circuit Court Judge. The concluding and vital part of the said judgment reads: <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in;text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height: 115%;font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif"">"Plaintiff therefore succeeds in her claim and that is, defendants should refund to the plaintiff the sum of £3,000, and ¢500,000. Interest on this amount at the prevailing bank rate in the United Kingdom, and in Ghana, from September, 1992 to date and judgment.
