There were no children to the marriage although the Petitioner, a German national, now domiciled in Ghana, has two issues from his previous marriage. Precisely one year after the wedding the appellant by special leave filed for divorce claiming irreconcilable differences, violent attacks and lack of fidelity on the part of the Respondent. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:115%"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:"Book Antiqua","serif";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma">The respondent agreed the marriage had broken down and did not contest the petition for a divorce. She however blamed the petitioners excessive drinking, violent outbursts, unreasonable demand for sex, and his jealousy as the cause for the breakdown. By an amendment to her answer she claimed she was on the threshold of finishing her hospitality course and to qualify as a hotelier in Accra when she was made to interrupt her studies to relocate to Takoradi because of the marriage.
