He retired in 1992. His identity card number was No. 218423. He further stated that he received his monthly pension through the Standard Chartered Bank, Korle Dudor Branch, Accra with account No. 0150410475600.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent: .25pt;mso-pagination:none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt; mso-border-shadow:yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Complainant alleged that around February and March 2004, he was taken ill and as a result could not go to the bank for his monthly pension. Upon recovering partially in November 2, 2004, he went to the bank for his money only to be told by the Manager that no payment advice have been received in his favour since January 2004. This therefore implied that he could not be paid.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Complainant then reported the issue to the District Treasury, Kinbu. He was then asked to complete the life certificate forms in that his name has been deleted from the pay roll.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent: .8pt;mso-pagination:none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt; mso-border-shadow:yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Complainant alleged that subsequently, he had made several follow-ups to the District Treasury office at Kinbu and the Standard Chartered Bank, but to no avail.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><b><u><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">RELIEF SOUGHT<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent: .2pt;mso-pagination:none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt; mso-border-shadow:yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">The Complainant prayed the Commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding the removal since January 2004 and order payment of all arrears due him.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><b><u><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">ACTION BY THE COMMISSION<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;text-indent: 1.4pt;mso-pagination:none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt; mso-border-shadow:yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">On 11th October 2005, the Commission contacted the Respondent and we were informed by the District Treasury that they have been paying the Complainant as at September 2004 to date through Bank Account No. 0150410475600 at Standard Chartered Bank, Korle Dudor, which the Complainant provided.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-pagination: none;border:none;mso-padding-alt:31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt 31.0pt;mso-border-shadow: yes"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Book Antiqua", serif;">Upon contacting the officer-in-charge, one Mr. Kojo Otoo at the Standard Chartered Bank, High Street, he stated that they did not have any report on the Complainant from their branch.
