Board of Directors of Ghana Post Company Limited on June 10, 2010 lodged a-
complaint against the Informer for two· publications that the Board deemed was
&amp; quot; clearly intended to injure the reputation of the Board Members of
Ghana Post and· put them to public ridicule and opprobrium &amp; quot;<o:p></o:p>The
first story in the edition of May 31-June 1, 2010 headlined &amp;quot;
GHANAPOST BOARD IS HOT-AS PRESIDENT DIRECTS SERIOUS FRAUD OFFICE TO INVESTIGATE
MONSTROUS CHOP-CHOP AND SELFISH ATTEMPTS TO SABOTAGE BETTER GHANA AGENDA.<o:p></o:p>The
second story on JUNE 7-8, 2010 with the headline-&amp;quot; NATIONAL INTEREST
FIRST, N.OT CHAIRMAN JOHN SEY&amp;#39;S ” alleged that the Chairman and other members
took illogical decisions which are inimical to the welfare of staff<o:p></o:p>The
Commission gave every opportunity to· the Informer to make its case which it
refused to do.<o:p></o:p>It
is the considered view of the NMC that the Informer did not adhere to the
provisions of the GJA Code of ethics which enjoins all journalists to cross-check
their stories for accurate, balanced, unbiased and fair reportage of the news
and accordingly direct the Informer to abide its professional duty to retract
its story and apologize to the complainant.<o:p></o:p><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p>
