mso-border-shadow:yes">In a letter dated 2nd June, 2011 and
received at the National Labour Commission
(NLC) on 15th June 2011, the Complainant filed a complaint against the
Respondent that his salaries were stopped for three months in 2008.
That when in May 2008 he enquired from the Director of the Respondent why for
three months he did not receive his salaries, he was verbally informed by the
Director that he had been retired due to his visual impairment. Aggrieved by
the said retirement he lodged the complaint herein at the NLC. <o:p></o:p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:11.7pt;margin-right:.2pt;margin-bottom:

mso-border-shadow:yes">THE CASE OF THE COMPLAINANT:

mso-border-shadow:yes">The Complainant averred that in May
2008, he
walked humbly to the office of
the Director of the Respondent College to enquire why he did not receive his
salaries for the past three months. He claimed that the Director verbally
notified him that he had been retired as a result of his visual impairment. He
went further to say that he was not visually impaired before he joined the
service of the College where he worked for 18 years as a Labourer and later
Head Labourer prior to his visual impairment. He stated further that having
been gifted with a gift of evangelization, the then Director of the Respondent
college deemed it convenient to assign him as the College Chaplain. A duty he
was performing until his purported retirement. The Complainant deemed his
retirement at the age of 46 years in his current condition which according to
him was not of his own making but by an accident while on official duties a
punishment and inconvenience to his life. <o:p></o:p>
