According to Applicant, on 10<sup>th</sup> November 2022, he was doing his legitimate business by going to make payments for cement and its accessories to a supplier when he was arrested in a swoop around the traffic lights in front of the Vodafone building at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra. Applicant claims that he informed the police that the money was to be used to pay his suppliers but the police refused to release same to him. Applicant asserts that the seizure of his money by the police was unlawful as there is no law against having Ghana cedis in one’s custody as a legal tender for payment of goods.
